Julie Nangala Robertson

Julie Nangala Robertson was born in Yuendumu, in the Western Desert of the Northern Territory, in 1973. She is the daughter of renowned and award-winning artist Dorothy Napangardi.

 

Julie Has developed her painting style since starting to paint in the 1990’s. Often painting in the company of her mother, she paints graphic and minimal depictions of her Country and Dreaming stories, passed down through generations.  Julie has become renowned in her own right, winning the Painting Prize and the 2023 Telstra NATSIAA’s – Australia’s most prestigious Indigenous art award.
